THE Story
On Monday night December 1, 2008 we returned home after attending our daughter's wedding in New York. It was dinner time when we arrived and after 6 hours in the car we were ready for a quick bite to eat and then crash in bed. Upon entering our home we smelled a foul odor, it reminded me of rotten cooked broccoli. Ben informed me that our propane was leaking somewhere into the house and he quickly sent the boys and I back to the car. I was too worried to sit still so I kept returning to the entry door and yelled to Ben to make sure he was alright. After a few minutes he agreed to let me help him open windows and doors so that the propane smell could work it's way out. He turned off the propane and joined us in the car. We made the five minute drive to Newport and we spent the night at his parents house. On Tuesday I went to
work and Ben spent a good portion of the day trying to figure out what the propane problem was. After checking the tank and all the pipes for propane leaks he found a mouse nest built in the furnace pipe and felt confident that was the cause of the propane smell. However the house still did smell and Ben thought we may as well stay one more night with his parents and let the house air out. I stopped at the house after school to get clothes for Wednesday thinking the smell wasn't too bad and we probably could stay at home yet I didn't want to spoil the fun of staying overnight again at Ami & Grandpa's for the boys. At 4:00am ish on Wednesday Ben's Dad answered the phone and the Sunapee Fireman stated that our home was gone. Ben spoke briefly to the fireman and then Ben, his Dad and I went to the house. Our home really was gone.
The cause of the fire was not the propane. Ben had fixed that problem. The fire Marshall felt that the cause was a battery left in our boy's John Deere Gator or in the Power Wheels 4-Wheeler. Please if you have any battery operated POWER WHEELS or you know someone who does please make sure the batteries are taken out/disconnected when it is not being used. The batteries in both power wheels were not charged! Yet the battery still caught fire and everything in our home was burned.

There have were times of troubles when I felt unhappy missing knowledge about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright pessimistic person.
